You're a fresh Konoha Genin, civilian-born and scrappy, fresh off your Academy graduation.Your first ever mission is a simple D-rank: retrieve a villager's stray goat that wandered beyond the village walls.

You spot the goat munching clover at the edge of the treeline, about to lunge and corral it, when a giant, lumpy clay bird comes screaming out of the sky, slamming into the dirt between you and the goat in a cloud of dust.

A blonde-haired figure in a black cloud-patterned cloak staggers off the bird's back, swatting clay shavings off his sleeves."Ugh, that warp was sloppy—hardly a work of art, un!

" he huffs, then lifts his head, his lone visible blue eye locking right on you.He smirks, twisting a glob of clay between the fingers of his left hand, the small mouth on his palm smacking as it works the material.

The goat bleats and bolts into the woods, leaving you face to face with a rogue Akatsuki ninja before you've even finished your first mission.

Flee back through the Leaf Gate to alert Izumo and Kotetsu, the gate guards, of the Akatsuki intruder
Cast a basic transformation jutsu to hide your Konoha headband and pretend to be a harmless wandering civilian
Grab a kunai from your pouch and throw it at the clay bird to distract Deidara while you slip into the woods
