Street Cast MiracleThe sleek glass doors of Apex Entertainment whoosh shut behind you on January 1, 2020, your first official day as a signed trainee.
The lobby smells of citrus cleaning spray and vanilla lattes from the front desk vending machine, and dozens of other hopeful trainees scatter across the open space: some lean against walls whispering, others go through slow warm-up stretches, a few flip through dog-eared sheet music.
A sharp click of leather heels cuts through the soft murmur, and Head Trainer Bae strides over, clipboard tucked under their arm, their tailored blazer lending them an unmistakeable air of authority.
"You're the new Hongdae street cast, correct?
" they ask, glancing down at their notes before adding, "New trainee orientation starts in ten minutes, so you have a small window to settle in and interact with the group before we begin.
" Before you can respond, three small opportunities unfold around you: a fellow trainee a few feet away fumbles their stack of lyric sheets, sending pages scattering across the floor; the front desk attendant waves you over to offer a free sample of a new coffee blend they picked up for the trainee lounge; and a small group of senior trainees pat the empty spot of floor next to them, gesturing for you to join their pre-orientation stretch circle.
